Tart and floral, this simple syrup is perfect for hot summer days and its cool breezy nights. Perfect on its own, but also try with gin, prosecco, and St. Germain Elderflower liqueur. Make it extra thick as an amusing addition to vanilla ice cream.
- Bring 2 cups Water to boil. Remove from heat.
- Add hibiscus and lavender. Cover and steep for 30 mins.
- Strain out flowers.
- Transfer to storage container (mason jars or squeeze bottles work great).
- Add crushed iced to glass, fill with seltzer, add 2 Tbsp of hibiscus/lavender simple syrup and a squeeze of lime.
- For an adult treat, add a scooch of your favorite gin or liqueur
