Our Coriander Seeds are aromatic whole seeds known for their warm, lightly sweet character and citrus-forward notes. Used across Indian, Middle Eastern, Latin American, and Southeast Asian cuisines, coriander seed plays a foundational role in global cooking traditions. Although they come from the same plant, coriander seeds have a very different flavor than cilantro leaves, offering more warmth and subtle floral depth. The seeds can be used whole, lightly cracked, or toasted and ground, making them a versatile building block in spice blends such as curry powders and garam masala.

Flavor Profile

Warm and lightly sweet with citrus brightness, subtle floral character, and a hint of nutty spice.

Uses

Toast coriander seeds before grinding to release aromatic oils. Use whole seeds in pickling brines, marinades, and braising liquids, where they slowly infuse a warm, citrusy note. Coriander seeds work well in sausages, meatballs, and other ground meat dishes, where their flavor and texture add interest. Try cracking or coarsely grinding them to season vegetables, especially carrots and other root vegetables. Add to bread dough, particularly rye, or use whole seeds in chutneys, compotes, and sweet-and-savory pickles.
