Our cilantro is a premium dehydrated cut leaf variety. Cilantro, also known as coriander leaves or Chinese parsley, comes from the same plant that produces coriander seeds. Cilantro is widely used across Mexican, Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, and other global cuisines. Drying tempers the herb’s potency, so fresh cilantro is preferred when full flavor and texture are needed. Dried performs best when added during cooking in soups, sauces, beans, and simmered dishes, not as a finishing garnish.

Flavor Profile

Delicate and herbaceous, with peppery notes, subtle mint, and a light lemony brightness. Clean and restrained in character.

Uses

Add dried cilantro to cooked Mexican, Indian, Thai, and Middle Eastern dishes. Use in salsas, chutneys, rice dishes, beans, curries, and stews. Season soups, especially Mexican soups and pozole. Works well in marinades, spice rubs, and dry seasonings. Add to rice preparations, including cilantro-lime rice. Sprinkle on tacos, burritos, and other Mexican dishes during cooking, not as a final garnish. When substituting for fresh cilantro, use 1/3 the amount specified. To release its full flavor, which comes from its essential oils, rub the herb gently before using it as a seasoning, particularly on foods that are not being heated.
