Flavor Profile

Mildly sweet and savory with a refined onion character and subtle garlic undertones. 
Uses

Rehydrate freeze dried shallots by covering them with an equal amount of water, or add directly to soups, sauces, and slow-cooked dishes where moisture is already present. Their mild sweetness makes them especially useful in pan sauces and vinaigrettes. If a smaller size is desired, crumble them by hand or, for a fine powder, grind using a blender or mortar and pestle. Shallot powder adds gentle onion-garlic flavor to rubs, dressings, and compound butters.
